New Horizons Ranch
The New Horizon Ranch is an equine (horse) assisted learning establishment that uses positive and effective learning methodology wherein participants engage in facilitated horse activities in a fun and creative atmosphere, leading to increased self-awareness and coping skills. Hippotherapy is a unique form of medical therapy for individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities that is performed on horseback under the coordinated supervision of a physical/occupational/recreation/speech therapist and a NARHA Certified Riding Instructor.
The Interior Design Students Robyn Betterton, Crystal Stergos, Kim Wallace and Lauren Wilkinson along with Associate Adjunct Professor Kristeen Armstrong-Scott, CKD are pleased to offer a vision for the New Horizon Ranch. This project was an expansion project to be built in three phases, The Arena, The Visitor Center and The Stables.
These students and the instructor worked for nearly 1000 hours on this project. It was an extremely beneficial and learning experience.
