Welcome to Johnson County Community College

Learning comes first at Johnson County Community College. Often, a slogan like that rolls so easily off the tongue others dismiss it as less than sincere. But at JCCC, this is a slogan I firmly believe in – when I say it, I mean it. Learning is our purpose, our reason for building new classrooms, introducing new programs and finding new ways to deliver a lesson.

JCCC also plays a dynamic role in the economic growth of a community. By preparing individuals for university transfer or expanded career opportunities through high-quality occupational, technical and workforce development programs, we help our students improve their potential for personal success and enable them to contribute to the economic vitality of the community.

As a cultural center, JCCC also contributes to the prosperity of the community. The visual and performing arts offered on the JCCC campus are inspirational and educational. And, as if that weren’t enough, a strong arts community attracts both the business and industry an area needs and the skilled workforce upon which those businesses depend.

Community colleges are centers of lifelong learning. As a community college graduate myself, I can attest to the role community colleges play in building a strong individual foundation. I believe every person has the capacity to grow from a community college education when they put forth the time and effort needed to be successful.

As JCCC’s president, I thoroughly enjoy interaction with students and members of our community. I look forward to hearing your success stories and learning how JCCC helped you, your business and the community grow.

Sincerely,
Terry A. Calaway
President
