JCCC’s CLEAR Program Celebrates 30 Years

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. The CLEAR (College Learning Experiences, Activities and Resources) is celebrating 30 years of lifelong learning opportunities from 1 to 3 p.m.Saturday, May 5, in the Craig Community Auditorium on the second floor of the General Education Building, Johnson County Community College.

Activities begin with a certificate ceremony and guest speakers in the auditorium. At the conclusion of the certificate ceremony, there will be a reception with refreshments and displays by students highlighting 30 years of memories and activities in room 1.5 of the Commons Building. Student class work and art will be on display, as well as students’ PowerPoint presentations, video memories and videos of talent shows and drama presentations from past years. Students will receive CLEAR 2007 yearbooks, anniversary lapel pins and certificates for participating in the 30th anniversary celebration.

CLEAR provides non-credit continuing education classes for adults with developmental disabilities or severe learning disabilities. Located on the campus of JCCC, the program is designed to teach independent living skills and provide life-enhancing experiences.
