OVERLAND PARK, Kan. Adam Bold, executive chairman and chief investment officer of The Mutual Fund Store and host of the weekly radio program The Mutual Fund Show, will present Five Things Wrong with the Financial Services Industry! (And what I'd do to fix them) from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, in Polsky Theatre of the Carlsen Center, Johnson County Community College. Bold?s presentation is part of the Polsky Practical Personal Enrichment Series. The seminar is free, but seating is limited. Reserve tickets by calling the JCCC box office, 913-469-4445.

''As baby boomers continue to age and the largest population group in the United States begins to retire and approach retirement, the reality of that looming retirement and providing for their future is much more serious,"Bold said.

"At the same time that's happening, the financial services industry has recognized this demographic situation. Unfortunately, many individuals and companies are more interested in making money for themselves than they are in making money for their clients. Part of my mission in life is to help identify those things so that the average investor is not taken advantage of by those companies.''

Bold, a Chartered Mutual Fund counselor (CMF), founded The Mutual Fund Store after a number of years working as a stock broker. It was his belief that clients would be better served working with an independent adviser than a commission-based brokerage house. The Mutual Fund Store now has 56 locations nationwide. He is also host of the The Mutual Fund Show airing in 47 U.S. markets including 10 a.m.Saturdays on KMBZ 980 AM.

Future Polsky Series are:

Monday, Aug. 13 Rep. Dennis Moore and Sen. Pat Roberts in a presentation, Reaching Across the Aisle: Changes in Washington

Wednesday, Sept. 12 Danny O'Neill, The Roasterie, Bob Regnier, Bank of Blue Valley, and Tim Barton, freightquote.com, in a presentation on entrepreneurship

This series of educational presentations is underwritten by the Norman & Elaine Polsky Family Supporting Foundation within the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation in partnership with Johnson County Community College.

The series includes a number of topics which are not now being offered in a formal academic program. Each event is free and open to senior citizens, students and the general public. Refreshments and socializing are offered before and after programs. Reserved parking is available.
