JCCC Industrial Tech Fair and ATB Expansion Get a Big Lift
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College will have a ribbon cutting for its high-performance automotive technology lab with the assistance of one of its new vehicle lifts. A flip of the switch will raise an electric lift and break the ceremonial ribbon at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, in the newly expanded Arts and Technology Building.
Dignitaries for the dedication include Rae Ann Davis, Deputy Secretary, Kansas Department of Commerce; JCCC administrators; and board members. The expansion increases the current automotive technology program’s lab space by about 50 percent, including four new garage bays and state-of-the-art equipment that give the lab the look and feel of an industry-standard repair facility.
The dedication of the of the ATB expansion is scheduled in conjunction with JCCC’s annual industrial technology showcase to acquaint prospective students with education and employment opportunities in industrial technology careers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14 on the south side of ATB. Instructors, current students and prospective employers will be available to answer questions about career expectations. JCCC career counselors and admission representatives will be on hand to answer questions about admissions and scholarships. The event will offer barbecue, giveaways and tech talks from featured programs.

• Drafting technology
• Electrical technology
• Electronic technology
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
• Metal fabrication/welding technology
• Pre-engineering
