JCCC’s Pastry Shop Opens Sept. 1

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Melt-in-your-mouth, freshly-baked pastries will once again be on sale at the Johnson County Community College pastry shop from 3-6 p.m. Fridays beginning Sept. 1 for the fall 2006 semester. The pastry shop is located in room 145 of the Office and Classroom Building at JCCC. During construction at JCCC, parking is available on the north side of campus.
The cakes, tortes, chocolate candies, tarts, eclairs, mousse, cookies and pies are freshly made by students in JCCC’s pastry/baking certificate program. Last year, pastry lovers started lining up 30 minutes in advance of the shop’s opening every Friday. Specialty pastries, like Thanksgiving pies and noel logs, are available at the holidays. Because of the high demand for pastries, the shop closes early when all items are sold.
For more information about the pastry shop, call 913-459-8500, ext. 3250.
