JCCC trustees to receive report
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College board of trustees will receive at their regular monthly meeting Sept. 21 the results of a review examining allegations involving the recently retired college president.
Betsy Badger, an attorney with the law firm Badger & Levings, Kansas City, Mo., conducted the review of events. She will deliver the written report to the board in open session.
The report will be available on the college’s Web site immediately following the meeting. The open portions of the meeting will be televised live on the college’s cable TV channel – 17 on Time Warner and 22 on Comcast.
In April, the board of trustees commissioned an independent analysis of public allegations at the college. In May, Badger was hired to conduct the review. Badger and her law partner, Theresa Levings, have interviewed people with pertinent information and conducted an independent review of the public allegations. The findings and recommendations from Badger and Levings regarding personnel matters will need to balance the public’s desire to know with the privacy rights of college staff in accordance with college policy and public law.
Board of trustee meetings take place in the Hugh W. Speer board room, 137 GEB, on the JCCC campus and are open to the public. The regular monthly meetings begin at 5 p.m.
