JCCC board will meet Sept. 6 to discuss League for Innovation
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Johnson County Community College board of trustees has scheduled a meeting for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in the Virginia Krebs Community Room, 107 CC. The board will meet in open session with Gerardo E. de los Santos, president and CEO of the League for Innovation in the Community College.
de los Santos will bring the trustees up-to-date on League activities, review the college’s current status with the League, and explain the process and timetable for the college reaffirmation of membership as a League Board institution.
The League for Innovation in the Community College is the only major international organization specifically committed to improving community colleges through innovation, experimentation and institutional transformation. JCCC has been a member of the League since 1978.
CEOs from some of the most influential, resourceful and dynamic community colleges and districts in the world comprise the League’s board of directors. JCCC’s former president, Charles J. Carlsen, was on the board. League board members serve for as long as they remain the CEO of a League member institution.
JCCC’s interim president, Larry W. Tyree, is currently a League Senior Fellow.
