‘Army Defensive Strategies and Gaming’ Is Topic at JCCC
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Mike Enloe, lead programmer for the National Simulation Center Futures Division for the U.S. Army, Fort Leavenworth, will present Army Games for Training Technical Frameworks and Solutions from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, in room 211 of the Carlsen Center, Johnson County Community College. The event is free and open to the public.
Enloe will discuss the implementation of gaming technology in Army training simulations and demonstrate current and next-generation Army gaming training architectures and tools. He will also discuss and demonstrate how animation and artificial intelligence are used in training simulations.
An employee of Cubic Applications, Enloe started his career at the NSC in 2001 as a programmer on the Joint Military Art of Command Environment (JMACE) Army Course of Action Analysis Tool Team. JMACE provided the first digital rehearsal tool used to support an actual military operation – Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Among other duties, Enloe is analyzing the use of commercial gaming technologies for formal Army training and is the NSC technical lead in developing the Army’s gaming training strategy. In 2004, Enloe was assigned in supporting the software and test development of One-Semi Automated Forces, an Army simulation project for next-generation Future Combat Systems.
JCCC’s Information Systems department is sponsoring Enloe’s presentation to provide education in game development programming to professionals in the field, students and the public. For more information, contact Jim Lossing, professor, Information Systems, 914-469-8500, ext. 3249.
