Volleyball Team Extends Win Streak to 16

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College volleyball team improved to 21-2 on the season, and extended their winning streak to 16 straight matches.  JCCC won four times last week, including three during the weekend in the JCCC Challenge.

JCCC’s first win of the week was a 3-0 conference victory over Independence, a team the Cavaliers have battled for the conference title that last three campaigns.  This year, Johnson County dominated the match with Independence.  JCCC opened with a record setting 30-6 victory.  The six points allowed are the lowest in school history.  The Cavaliers followed with wins of 30-11 and 30-12, which improved JCCC to 5-0 in conference play.

The Cavaliers capped the week with three victories in the JCCC Challenge.  On Friday night, JCCC downed Southwestern 30-19, 30-16 and 30-22.  JCCC followed with victories on Saturday over Des Moines Area 30-18, 30-10 and 30-23, and North Platte 30-20, 30-13 and 30-18.

The Cavaliers have one match this week against Neosho County, Sept. 28 in Chanute.
