JCCC Travelogue Takes Viewers to New Zealand
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College’s Windows on the World Travelogue series takes viewers to New Zealand at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center.
Join travel expert Rick Howard on a journey to New Zealand, a place that has been called the most beautiful on earth. Visit this unique country comprised of two large and spectacular islands separated by Cook Strait and several small islands, located just over 1,200 miles off the eastern coast of Australia between the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean. Imagine a land of breathtaking scenery: craggy coastlines, sweeping golden beaches, verdant forests, snow-capped alpine mountains, gurgling volcanic pools, flashing fish-filled rivers and glacier-fed lakes, all beneath a brilliant blue sky.
JCCC offers six travelogues a year. Each travelogue features in-person narration by a leader in the travel-film industry. Refreshments are served at intermission. Programs continue at 2 p.m. in the Carlsen Center on the following dates.
- Feb. 7, 2006 Italy’s Fabled Isles: Sicily, Capri, Elba and Sardinia
- March 2, 2006 Germany
- April 4, 2006 Natural Wonders of the Southeast Coast: Virginia Beach to Key West
Tickets are $6 singles. The spring series (February-April) is $15. Tickets are available by calling the Carlsen Center box office, 913-469-4445.
