Classroom named in Regnier Center for Harvey and Beverly Bodker

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – At their meeting Dec. 15, the Johnson County Community College board of trustees approved the naming of an executive classroom in the Regnier Center for Technology and Business for Harvey and Beverly Bodker, Leawood.

The Harvey S. and Beverly R. Bodker Executive Classroom will be used by the college’s Center for Business and Technology for classes and seminars in management skills and leadership.

The Regnier Center is currently under construction on the campus of Johnson County Community College. Completion of the structure is anticipated in 2007. The college has currently raised $13.5 million through its Campaign for the Community to support construction of new facilities and programming at JCCC.

“The Regnier Center is a fitting tribute to the Regnier family’s impact on our community,” Harvey Bodker said. “I am pleased we can contribute to making this facility a reality for the students of the college and the residents of Johnson County.”

Harvey Bodker is president of Bodker Realty and has been involved with the Boy Scouts, Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, the Overland Park planning commission, Congregation Beth Shalom, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy and KCPT.

Beverly Bodker’s community involvement included the Jewish Federation, the Jewish Community Foundation, Menorah Medical Center, Sigma Tau Theta International, University of Kansas Medical School of Nursing, Beth Shalom Synagogue Sisterhood and the Midwest Bioethics Center. Both have served on the college’s Foundation board and funded the Beverly R. and Harvey S. Bodker Scholarship for Students of the Performing Arts.

“We are pleased to honor the Bodkers for their generous gifts,” said Charles J. Carlsen, president, JCCC. “Their support enriches the entire community.”
