Air Force Band Comes to JCCC

Air Force Band OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Noteables of the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center at Johnson County Community College.  A reception with light refreshments will be served starting at 6 p.m. in the Carlsen Center lobby. The event, sponsored by JCCC’s Brown & Gold Club, is free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are required.  Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Noteables are a 17-piece big band that tours in concert, records and performs in numerous radio and television programs. During their history, the Noteables have appeared with entertainers such as Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra Jr., composer-arranger Frank Mantooth and former Tonight Show band leader Doc Severinsen. Their repertoire of big-band selections feature a variety of vocal and instrumental soloists.

The Brown & Gold Club, sponsored by the JCCC Student Life and Leadership Development Division, serves the county through special programs designed to benefit its members, the college and community. Members must be at least 55 years of age, have resided in Johnson County for at least six months and pay an annual membership fee of $10. For membership information, call 913-469-8500, ex. 4305.
