JCCC Halls Ring with Holiday Music

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College will host holiday music concerts performed by community groups and students in the JCCC music department during December in the Carlsen Center. All concerts are free and open to the public.

  • Dec. 1 – JCCC presents its Midnight Blues Vocal Jazz Choir and Midnight Express Jazz Ensemble, directed by Ron Stinson, JCCC associate professor of instrumental music, in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in Polsky Theatre of the Carlsen Center.
  • Dec. 6 – The JCCC Music Masters Concert Band, directed by Stinson, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the Polsky Theatre.
  • Dec. 8 – Music for the Holidays showcases the JCCC Chamber Choir and MadRegalia, directed by Terri Teal, JCCC associate professor of vocal music, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in Polsky Theatre. The program includes Vivaldi’s Gloria, Hanukkah selections and standards such as Jingle Bells and Home for the Holidays.
  • Dec. 11 – The Johnson County Chorus, under the direction of Anita Cyrier, will present its winter concert, Holiday Celebration, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, in Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center. Young Singers of Overland Park, directed by Jan Jensen, also perform.  For more information see

  • Dec. 14 – The JC Winds Community Symphonic Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, in Polsky Theatre.
