Career and Technical Expo Scheduled at JCCC

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – A Career and Technical Expo is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Gymnasium’s indoor track at Johnson County Community College. The event is free and open to the public.

The Expo is designed to make middle school students, high school students and their parents more aware of career opportunities that don’t necessarily require a four-year degree. More than 100 different career and technical preparation program representatives have been invited to highlight career programs, ranging from accounting to railroad technology. Attendees will be able to speak with people who are employed in these careers.

This is the third year for the event, which showcases a wide array of options for 21st century careers, information about employment opportunities, salary potential, financial aid information, and training and education requirements. JCCC is sponsoring the event for 57 area junior and senior high schools.

For more information, contact Minnie Gilmer, director, JCCC Technical College Preparation, 913-469-8500, ext. 4710.
