JCCC Campus Ledger wins best of show award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Campus Ledger, the student newspaper of Johnson County Community College, won the Best of Show Award at the National College Media Convention Nov. 1 in Austin, Texas.

The newspaper was judged the best newspaper in its category – a tabloid 17 or more pages from a two-year school – and received a trophy from the Associated Collegiate Press. The contest was based on the overall quality of only one issue, and the staff chose to enter the Oct. 22, 2009, issue, which is currently still available from bins on campus.

The editor of The Campus Ledger is Matt Galloway, Stilwell. The adviser is Anne Christiansen-Bullers.
