Coming from a musical family in Anderson, Ind., McLaughlin started playing classical piano at age 4. In June 2005, after graduating from Anderson University School of Music in his hometown, he recorded Songs I Wrote and Later Recorded. His major break came with the release of Indiana on the Island label followed by his film debut, both in 2007. He has performed in concert with artists Kelly Clarkson and Sara Bareilles and is slated to be heard on the album Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1, performing the track Something To Believe In with Jason Mraz and Van Hunt. His most recognizable song from radio play is Beautiful Disaster.
