McGrath Named Dean at JCCC

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Darcy McGrath has been named dean of workforce development and operations at Johnson County Community College. In this position, McGrath has responsibility for Regnier Center and Carlsen Center operations; grants and contracts management; national, regional and statewide partnerships; strategic planning for workforce and economic development; and oversight of the branch’s budget process.

McGrath comes to JCCC from Kansas City Kansas Community College, where she had been employed since 1998. Most recently she had been KCKCC’s director of workforce development acting as the college’s primary liaison for federal and state initiatives that address the emerging and current workforce and economic development. Prior to KCKCC, McGrath worked with the Illinois Community College Board for seven years and the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

In 2004, McGrath joined the board of the Kansas Council for Workforce Education, currently serving as president,  and the National Council for Continuing Education and Training, currently serving as vice president for administration and finance. She also is a member of the board of directors of the YWCA of Greater Kansas City, and, in the past, has served on boards for the Communities in Schools of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City, Kansas.

McGrath has  bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication, from Sangamon State University, Springfield, Ill., and University of Illinois-Springfield, respectively.
