JCCC Hosts Free French Film Series

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – A free French film series, Paris in April, will be shown April 18-20 in the Hudson Auditorium of the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art at Johnson County Community College.

The four films, all set in Paris, have French dialogue with English subtitles.

  • Cléo de 5 à 7 (Cleo from 5 to 7) by Agnès Varda (1962) (NR) at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 18
  • Chacun cherche son chat (When the Cat’s Away) by Cédric Klapisch (1996) (R) at noon Saturday, April 19
  • Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain (Amélie) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (2001) (R) at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19
  • Paris, je t’aime (Paris, je t’aime) by various directors (2006) (R) at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 20

Paris in April is free and open to the public. Janette Funaro, associate professor of French, JCCC, will provide a short introduction and post-film discussion. For more information, contact Funaro at 913-469-8500, ext. 3457.
