JCCC to offer drivers education

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — This fall Johnson County Community College will begin offering drivers education classes to students ages 14 and up. Drivers education will be offered in two sessions: 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 8-Oct. 15, or Oct. 20-Dec. 8, in room 356 of  the General Education Building. Classes cost $349, with registration available by calling 913-469-2323.

Participants are eligible for a driver’s license upon completion of the class. The noncredit class provides 30 hours of classroom instruction, a minimum of four hours of driving and two hours of observation with another student. All instructors are licensed to teach drivers ed by the state. The program provides home pickup for students.

Shawnee Mission School District has scholarships available. SM high school students should contact their school’s counselor for more information.
