BNSF Awards Five JCCC Faculty Members

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Through a gift from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, five cash awards of $1,000 are made each year to recognize outstanding faculty performance at Johnson County Community College. Each instructional division selects nominees, then five recipients are selected from these nominees by an external judge. This year the judge was Steven Johnson, president, Sinclair Community College, Dayton, Ohio.

Recipients are:

  • Lynne Beatty, Lawrence, professor, science
  • Csilla Duneczky, Overland Park, professor, science
  • Monica Hogan, Lenexa, associate professor, English
  • Shirly Kleiner, Olathe, professor/career program facilitator, accounting
  • Mary Rack, Overland Park, professor, mathematics
