JCCC Awards Adjunct Faculty

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College announced the Lieberman Teaching Excellence Awards for Adjunct Faculty.  The six winners were:

  • Sally Bennett, Parkville, Mo., adjunct professor, English
  • Helga Beuing, Prairie Village, adjunct professor, foreign language
  • Darla Green, Shawnee, adjunct associate professor, design and hospitality
  • Fran Kanter, Overland Park, adjunct professor, learning strategies
  • Patti Ward, Overland Park, adjunct professor, psychology
  • David York, Kansas City, Mo., adjunct associate professor, speech

Green received $750 and the others $250.

The external judge was Teresa Paper, dean of the college, Scott Community College, Bettendorf, Iowa.

The awards are made possible through a gift honoring George and Floriene Lieberman, long-time JCCC supporters named Johnson Countians of the Year by the JCCC Foundation in 1997.  The Lieberman Awards were initiated in 1997 with the first awards given in 1998.
