He also took part in the Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival, Washington.

Lee, a member of the Symphony for two years, received his bachelor’s degree at the Oberlin Conservatory and his master’s degree at the Juilliard School. He performs with the Grant Park Orchestra, Chicago, during the summers.

Korean-born cellist Joo has enjoyed a successful career as a concert soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and pedagogue. Currently, Joo serves as the associate principal cellist of the Symphony, a post she has held since 2005.  As a soloist, Joo has performed with numerous orchestras and been featured on live radio and television broadcasts in performances with the Korean MBC-TV Ensemble and the KBS-FM Iwah Kyung Hyang Orchestra.

Joo is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including first prizes in the Sorantin International Competition, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra Competition, Greenfield Competition, Hankook Ilbo Contest and Seikae Ilbo Competitions.
