Polsky Series Offers Money-Making Strategies

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. ­– Peter Newman, a certified public accountant and host of KMBZ’s Moneyline, and Sue Alt, Social Security Administration, will present Practical Money-Making Strategies: Taxes, Social Security and Insurance from 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Polsky Theatre of the Carlsen Center, Johnson County Community College. The seminar, part of the Polsky Practical Personal Enrichment Series, is free, but seating is limited. Reserve tickets by calling the JCCC box office, 913-469-4445. Reserved parking is available. Refreshments and networking are offered one-half hour before and after the program.

Newman and Alt will discuss:
• Recent tax legislation
• Ways to save on tax dollars
• Social Security – one of the most misunderstood federal programs
• Important insurance topics – long-term care insurance and ways to get immediate money out of your life insurance and avoid further premiums

This series of educational presentations is underwritten by the Norman & Elaine Polsky Family Supporting Foundation within the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation in partnership with Johnson County Community College. The series includes a number of topics which are not now being offered in a formal academic program. Each event is free and open to senior citizens, students and the general public.
