Volleyball Ranked Second, Kracl Named NJCAA D-II Player of the Week
OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College volleyball team, off to one of its best starts in the team history at 21-2, moved up one spot to No. 2 in the NJCAA Coaches Volleyball poll. This is the highest a JCCC volleyball team has been ranked in the program’s history. The Cavaliers were ranked third last week, and opened the season ranked 12th.
In addition, the NJCAA announced JCCC sophomore hitter Lauren Kracl of Eudora, Kan., was selected the Division II Player of the Week for Sept. 18-24. Kracl led the Cavaliers to four wins last week against Independence Community College, Southwestern Iowa Community College, Des Monies Area Community College and North Platte Community College. Kracl had three double-double performances including 10 kills and 10 digs against Southwestern, 13 kills and 11 digs versus Des Moines Area, and 13 kills and 16 digs against North Platte. She also had seven aces in last week’s four matches. Kracl went on to end the week with 40 kills, four blocks, 41 digs and a .362 hitting percentage.
