Volleyball downs nationally ranked Coffeyville

OVERLAND PARK, KS --  The Johnson County Community College volleyball defeated another ranked opponent this season, downing No. 18 Coffeyville on the road, Wednesday night.  JCCC needed all five games, but managed to come away with their 17th victory of the season, and remain undefeated and tied for first-place in the East Jayhawk Conference standings.

JCCC opened with a relative easy 30-15 victory, then fell in game two, 27-30.  The Cavaliers rebounded in game three with a 30-24 win, but the Ravens forced a fifth and final game with a 30-23 win.  The fifth  game was a battle as well, with JCCC edging the Coffeyville, 16-14.

The Cavaliers travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa, this weekend for the Iowa Western Tournament, then travel to No. 2 ranked Cowley College on Wednesday, Oct. 10, to see who will take over the top spot in the conference standings.
