JCCC Signs Miami Prep Sprint Star

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College track and field head coach Joe Weis announced that Eugene Williams from Miami Killian high school has signed a letter of intent for the 2007-08 academic year.

Williams, a sprinter and jumper, is the Florida 4a runner- up in the 200 meters as a junior. He is the defending FHSAA 4a Region 4 and District 16 champion in the 200. He is one of the top 15 returning 200 meter runners in the country. He has posted a personal best of 21.41 for the event. The versatile Williams’ is also a long jumper who has jumped 22-11.75 and runs integral parts of Killians’ relay teams.

He is expected to be a key addition to JCCC’s sprint and jump groups next season.
