JCCC’s 4x100 tops field at Sea Ray Relays at the University of Tennessee

Sea Ray
OVERLAND PARK, KS --  The Johnson County Community College 4x100 relay team raced to a first-place finish at 2007 Sea Ray Relays at the University of Tennessee last weekend.  The team finished with a time of 40.69, defeating East Tennessee State, Tennessee, Indiana State and Morgan State, along with nine other NCAA teams in the field.  Their performance was particularly impressive considering the weather conditions during the competition.  Temperatures were in the mid 40s, and the meet was postponed following the 4x100 due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Comprising JCCC’s champion relay were freshman Terrius McMillin of Newburgh, N.Y., freshman Jamil Benjamin of Seabrook, N.J., sophomore Dantavius Harmon of Louisville, Ga., and sophomore Terrel Cotton of Warrensburg, Mo.  Their time of 40.69 is the third fastest posted in this event in team history.  The record  of 40.58 was set last year at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships.  Harmon was a member of that record-setting relay.
