JCCC sweeps Labette, Barnes wins 450th

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College softball coach Frank Barnes won his 450th game Tuesday, Feb. 28th, when JCCC defeated Labette 8-0 in the first of two games.  The Lady Cavaliers followed with a 5-1 win, improving their season mark to 6-0.

In the first game, sophomore All-American pitcher Katie Jeannin hurled a no-hitter, the second of her career.  She just missed a perfect game, allowing just on free pass.  She recorded three strikeouts.

Offensively, sophomore Jennifer Narcomey and freshman Ashley Scates head drove in two runs, and freshman Tracey Anderson went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

In the second game, freshmen Jill Peters and Aubree Brattin hit back-to-back home runs to propel JCCC to the 5-1 win.  Peters had three RBI in the game.
