JCCC sweeps Fort Scott

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College softball team improved to 4-0 on the 2006 season with a sweep of Fort Scott, Feb. 23rd.  JCCC opened with a 9-0 five inning win, and followed with a 15-2 victory in the second game.

Freshman Tracey Anderson led the team with two hits, a single and triple, and drove in one run.  Sophomore Jennifer Narcomey ripped a double in the fifth inning to drive in two runs, and end the game.  Freshman Katie Mathis and sophomore Megan Goings each had run scoring singles.  Sophomore left-hander Katie Jeannin earned the victory, her second of the season.  She allowed just three hits, and recorded four strikeouts.

Tied at 1-1 after the first inning of game two, the Lady Cavaliers broke the game open in the second inning, scoring eight runs on seven hits.  Mathis ripped a triple to drive in two runs, and Peters had a two run double in the inning.  Freshman Aubree Brattin followed Peters double with a triple, scoring Peters.   The triple was her first collegiate hit.

Freshman right-hander Jessi Alford earned the win, allowing two runs, one unearned, with two strikeouts.
