JCCC Softball Players Among NJCAA Statistical Leaders

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College softball team, 40-12 on the season and ranks sixth in the NJCAA Coaches Poll, have several players ranked among the country’s statistical leaders.

In the circle, freshman left-hander Katie Jeannin of Leavenworth, Kan, ranks among the hurlers in the NJCAA. Jeannin ranks first nationally with a 0.403 earned run average. She is 17-4 this season, and she leads the team in innings pitched with 139, and strikeouts with 113. She ranks 23rd nationally in strikeouts per inning at 0.813.

Sophomore right-hander Lindsey Oliver ranks fourth nationally with an earned run average of 0.636. She stands 13-3 on the season, with 51 strikeouts in 88 innings of work. Her strikeout per inning ratio of 0.580 ranks 41st in the country.

Sophomore Ashley McDougal has worked 108 innings, and has an earned run average of 1.102, 13th in the NJCAA rankings. She also ranks second on JCCC’s staff with 73 strikeouts. She ranks 30th nationally with a strikeout per inning ratio of 0.676. Her record to date is 11-5.

The team’s top hitter so far this season are freshmen Kathy Kiblinger of Piper High School, and Kati Snelling of Newton, Kan. Kiblinger, a first baseman, leads the squad with a .443 batting average, which ranks 44th nationally. She also ranks sixth in the NJCAA with 10 home runs, and her 36 RBI ti for 34th nationally.

Freshman MacKenzie Magenheimer of Olathe North High School has belted three home runs this season, good for a tie for 45th in the nation.

On the base paths, JCCC has two players who rank among the top base stealers nationally. Freshman Megan Brock of Bogard, Mo. leads the team with 20 steals, which ties for 14th in the NJCAA. Freshman Jennifer Narcomy of Lawrence, Kan. is tied for 31st with 12 successful steals.
