 JCCC’s Mihai Named NSCAA All-American

Fivi Mihai Region VI tourn OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America recently announced its 2005 All-America teams , and Johnson County Community College sophomore Fivi Mihai was selected to the first-team.   Mihai also has earned NJCAA honorable mention All-American, NJCAA All-Region VI first-team, NSCAA All-Region first-team and Kansas Jayhawk Conference first-team accolades.

Mihai, a midfielder from Tecumseh, Ontario, tied for the team lead in points with 45, led the team in goals with 17 and was second in assists with 11.  She also was second on the team with four game-winning goals.  Her efforts helped JCCC to an 18-2-1 record, a region champion, and a top-10 national ranking.    Mihai was awarded the NJCAA Player of the Week after scoring four goals and three assists in wins over Garden City, No. 8 Butler County and Hutchinson in the Region VI Tournament.

Mihai’s 17 goals tie the seventh-best season in team history, and her 45 tie for ninth on JCCC’s season chart.  For her career, Mihai netted 30 goals and had 16 assists totaling 75 points.  Her 75 points and 30 goals rank fourth all-time at JCCC, and her 16 assists rank 11th.
