Cavaliers post first victory of 2007

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Johnson County Community College men’s soccer team won its first match of the 2007 over the weekend, downing Oakton Community College 2-0.  Two days prior to the victory, JCCC lost by a 2-0 margin to Kishwaukee College.  JCCC now stands 1-2-1 on the season.

In the victory over Oakton, freshman midfielder Momodou Baldeh got JCCC on the board in the 29 minute.  It was Baldeh’s first collegiate goal.  That proved to be the only offense until the final minutes when freshman Peter Krivena (Shawnee Mission East) found an opening, securing JCCC’s  first victory of the 2007 campaign.  Freshmen Jon VanRyn ( Bishop Miege) and David dos Santos were credited with the assists on the Cavaliers scores.

In the loss against Kishwaukee, JCCC outshot the Kougars, but could not get them past goalkeeper Christian Tidwell.
