The tournament opened on Monday, March 24 with extremely windy conditions. Only six players in the field posted scores in the 70s. JCCC golfers produced three of those six rounds. Tuesday was played in calm conditions, and the scores reflected, as 15 golfer shot in the 70s, including a tournament best round of 72 by Sargent.
Joining Sargent in the top five were sophomores Mike Elafros and Keith Erickson, and freshman Miles Christensen. Elafros fired rounds of 77 and 76 for a 153 total and a third-place finish. Erickson and Christensen tied for fifth with a tournament total of 155. Erickson posted rounds of 79 and 76. Christensen opened with an 81, but got back into contention with a 74 on the second day. His 74 tied for the second-best round of the tournament.
