Cavaliers win Hutchinson Designated--Four Cavaliers place in the top-10

OVERLAND PARK, KS --  The Johnson County Community College golf team won the final designated conference tournament of the fall season, firing a two-day total of 625 at The Highlands Golf Course in Hutchinson, Kan. This is JCCC’s second designated win, and third tournament victory of the season. JCCC opened with a 323 team effort in windy conditions, then followed with a 302 total.

Four Cavaliers placed in the top-10 at the Hutchinson designated.  Leading the way was freshman Mike Greene, who fired a 36-hole total of 152.  Greene posted rounds of 75 an 77, to finish second overall.

Freshman Mike Elafros finished just two shots back of Greene and earned a third-place finish.  Elafros shot an 81 in the wind, but got back into contention with a second-round 73.

Sophomore Matt Salome and Andrew Manley also finished in the top-10. Salome tied for sixth with a 157 total, and Manley placed ninth with a 162.
