JCCC harriers win short course invitational

OVERLAND PARK, KS --  The Johnson County Community College women’s and men’s cross country teams each won their respective races at the JCCC Short Course Invitational, Friday, Oct. 19.  Additionally, both teams produced the top individual in the meet.    Sophomore Christa Heideman won the women’s race with a time of 4k time of 14:48, and sophomore Alex Troncoso was the top male finisher with a time of 19:32 over the 6k course.

Both teams had five other runners place in the top 10.  On the women’s side, Francis Gipson placed third (15:24), Temer Yimer, fourth (15:28), Heather Kochie, fifth (15:47), Andrea Young, sixth (15:51), and Kay Thomason was seventh, just one step back of Young (15:51).

The five other top 10 finishers for the men also placed third through seventh  They were: Daniel Everhart (3rd-19:41), Grant Catloth (4th-19:48), Trevor Johannsen (5th-19:49), Jason Rose (6th-19:52) and Matt Bilhimer (7th-19:54).
