JCCC Women win 1/2 Marathon, Men Finish Runner-up

| The women's team won its second national championship, edging El Paso Community College for the 2005 title. The Lady Cavaliers won its first title in 2003. They finished runner-up last season. Freshman Felicia Fleming and sophomore Esther Mathais led the Lady Cavaliers, finishing third and fifth respectively. Fleming finished in 1:28:06, and earned NJCAA All-American. Mathais finished with a time of 1:28:48. Also turning in key efforts were freshman Jackie Jamison (11th-1:33:23) and sophomore Yuliya Kubryakova (20th-1:40:40). | |

| The JCCC men’s 1/2 marathon team finished second to Butler County Community College. It marked JCCC fourth top-five finish in history, and second straight runner-up finish. The Cavaliers were led by freshman Kory Cool, who finished fifth overall with a time of 1:13:01. Also finished among the top-20 were sophomores Tighe Van Anne (13th-1:16:46) and Blake Koger (15th-1:16:49). Rounding out JCCC’s team were freshman Chris Adams (21st-1:17:56), sophomore Justin Simonich (24th-1:18:40) and sophomore Alan Kroll (34th-1:21:24). | |
