JCCC women’s basketball team captures ninth straight region title  


Cavaliers Capture Region Basketball Title
OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The JCCC women's basketball team won its ninth straight NJCAA Region VI Division II Championship, defeating Brown Mackie College, 76-49, Saturday, March 1. The Cavaliers improve to 24-8. The 24 wins are the most under head coach Debbie Carrier.
Three players scored in double figures, led by sophomore Meghan Waggoner with 19. Sophomore Brittney Slifer followed with 12, and sophomore Heather Rourk finished with 10 points.

JCCC will host North Arkansas College in the District B Championship, Friday, March 7, at 5 p.m. The winner advances to the title game against Louisiana State University-Eunice on Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m.
