Speed earns player of the week honors

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Johnson County Community College freshman guard Kyle Speed has been selected as a KJCCC Player of the Week.  He is the second Cavalier to earn Conference Player of the Week honors this season.  Freshman David Yadrich earned the honor the previous week.

Speed poured in a career-high 27 points against KCKCC, leading the Cavaliers to a 74-46 home win last week.  He hit 11-of-17 shots, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range. He also had 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals. He followed with nine points, five boards, four assists and two steals in a two-point road loss at Coffeyville.  For the season, Speed averages 11.7 points and leads the team in assists with a 4.1 per game average.
