Linn and May leave their mark in the all-time annuals at JCCC

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- It proved to be a special afternoon for Johnson County Community College sophomores Aaron Linn and Corey May in the Cavaliers 99-93 road victory over Highland Community College, last Saturday.

Linn scored his 1,000th career point, becoming just the eighth player to accomplish that milestone.  He poured in 29 points, hit five 3-pointers and dished out nine assists.  He now has 1,020, and now ranks seventh on JCCC’s all-time career scoring chart.  Next on the list is Malcom Daniels with

May recorded his best scoring effort as a collegiate player, finishing with 40 points, which is the ninth highest game effort in JCCC history.  May hit a sizzling 16-of-20 shots, including a 3-pointer, and was 7-of-6 from the line. He also had nine rebounds and block.

Freshman Anthony Spencer and sophomore Russell Revels also finished in double figures against the Scotties.  Spencer had 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting, and Revels added 10 points, two assists, three steals and no turnovers.  As a team, the Cavaliers shot 63 percent from the field, and 54 percent from 3-point range.

These two teams will go at it again Thursday night, in the first round of the NJCAA Region VI Division II Tournament.  JCCC will host the game which is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m.  The winner will face the winner of the Brown Mackie/Hesston game on Saturday, March 10.  The highest seed of the two winners will host the championships game.
