Cavaliers win conference home opener
College Information and Publications Cavaliers win conference home opener Freshman Nafis Ricks continued his stellar play this season by leading the Cavaliers with 17 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Ricks did most of his damage in the first half, hitting for 13 of his game-high 17, leading JCCC to a 17-point halftime lead. He was 4-of-5 from the field, including a 3-pointer, and 4-of-6 at the line in the first half. Ricks leads the Cavaliers in scoring (14.9), rebounds (7.7) and steals (2.7). Also in double figures for JCCC were freshman Kyle Speed with 15, sophomore Jonathan Jackson and freshman David Yadrich with 13 each and freshman Anthony Dobson finished with 10 points. Speed scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half. He also dished out eight assists. Sophomores Q Totta and Patrick Nemechek also had solid efforts in the victory. Totta finished with eight points and seven rebounds, while Nemechek had six points five boards and two assists. Mark Gomilla led Neosho County with 24 points, and Damayrius Abside added 11 points and seven assists. http://www.jccc.edu/athletics |
