Cavaliers Split Double Header against NE Texas

Game 1     JCCC 10     NE Texas 2

JCCC stayed hot in game one and rode the arm of Travis Blankenship to take a 10-2 victory. Blankenship picked up his second win of the season pitching six innings, with six strikeouts, a walk, five hits, and no earned runs.

The offense continued its hot hitting, collecting 15 hits in the game. Jeremy Francis, Chad Griffin, and Doug Otto each collected three hits to lead the way. John Lenherr and Chad Griffin drove in three runs a piece to give Blankenship all the runs he needed.

Game 2     JCCC 8     NE Texas 9

Walks, errors, and umpires doomed JCCC in the night cap. NE Texas jumped out to a 5-0 lead against JCCC starter Ryan Garman in the first, but the Cavaliers offense kept on fighting. Jeremy Francis and Doug Otto collected two hits each, while Andy Chamberlin had three hits. Nick Holtgrieve pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief until a JCCC error in the fifth inning pushed two runs across for NE Texas.
