Opened in 1988, the ITC serves as a national training center for more
than 3,000 employees of the Burlington Northern
Santa Fe Railroad.
The shared facility includes specialized
mechanical, communication,
electronic, signal and locomotive engineering
laboratories. It also
provides office space for Burlington Northern
Santa Fe and general
classrooms for JCCC.
The railroad pays for two-thirds of the cost of the ITC. The ITC
addition, completed in 1992, offers additional
office space, classrooms
and laboratories for the electronics technology
program. Students in
the electronics labs have access to the latest
in computer and drafting
technology and computer-aided drafting
equipment.
