Johnson County Community College
Series 400: Personnel
Section 111: Employee Benefits
Vacation accrual will be on a monthly basis. In determining the accrual of
vacation time, the fifteenth (15th) day of the month will be considered
the vesting date. An eligible employee beginning on or before the
fifteenth (15th) day of the month will be granted accrual for that month,
and an employee beginning after the fifteenth (15th) will not. An employee
separating from employment on or after the fifteenth (15th) day of the
month will be granted accrual for that month, and an employee separating
before the fifteenth (15th) will not.
An employee changing assignment within the college or whose position is
reclassified may take accrued vacation to which he/she is entitled by
prior service. For purposes of determining the rate of accrual after
reassignment or reclassification, the classification of the new or
reclassified assignment and the number of months of service since the
original date of full-time hire shall be used.
