Johnson County Community College
Series 300: Student Personnel
Section 324: Student Parking
The college will provide free parking in designated areas on campus.
Parking lots will be marked with signs designating areas for students,
visitors, handicapped, staff and faculty parking, motorcycles and motor
scooters.
Motorcycles and motor scooters are considered motor vehicles and their
operators are required to comply with all parking and traffic regulations.
Responsibility for finding a legal parking space rests with the motor
vehicle operator. Individuals who do not comply with campus parking
regulations will be charged a fine. Fines must be paid within 10 business
days of the violation, or a hold will be placed on the student's records.
A list of violations for which an individual may be ticketed can be
obtained by contacting the JCCC Police Department.
Unauthorized vehicles in a handicapped parking space may be ticketed by
either the JCCC Police Department or the Overland Park Police Department
and subject to fines and fees from both.
This action will not allow the student to add/drop classes, enroll in
future classes or obtain a copy of their transcript until such time as the
fines are paid. The third violation also may result in the vehicle being
towed at the owner's expense.
Parking violations may be appealed by completing and submitting a written
appeal to the JCCC Police Department. Appeals are reviewed by the Parking
Appeals Subcommittee.
