Section 314: Academic Policies

1. Honor Roll

The name of any student who enrolls in and completes a minimum of six credit hours and earns an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher during any semester will appear on the Part-time Honor Roll list. Any student who enrolls in and completes a minimum of 12 credit hours and earns an overall grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 will appear on the Dean's List. Any student who enrolls in and completes a minimum of 12 credit hours and earns an overall grade point average of 4.0 will appear on the President's List.

2. Graduation with Honors

A student who has 30 hours at JCCC and has a 3.5 or higher JCCC cumulative grade point average in all JCCC hours attempted will be graduated with honors. Only JCCC hours will be calculated in GPA for honors designation.

3. Honors Program

Students in the honors program are expected to maintain a GPA of approximately 3.5 to remain part of the program. Specific academic standards will be determined by the Honors Committee.

4. Recognition of Achievement Award

A student who successfully completes a continuing education or community services course, workshop or seminar may be granted a Recognition of Achievement Award.
