Section 312: Tuition and Fees/Refunds/Returned Checks
1. Credit Courses
If a student who has completed registration for credit courses withdraws
from a course, they will receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees paid if
the drop is completed within eight (8) calendar days of the official first
day of the semester for a 16-week course. Refund dates for a course less
than 16-weeks will be prorated accordingly based on the length of the
course.
No refund will be authorized for withdrawals or changes in registration
made after this deadline except as indicated below.
In the event a course is canceled or dates/times of a course is changed by
the college, a 100% refund of tuition and fees pertaining to that course
will be made to the student.
Students who are directed to report for active military duty during an
academic term shall be entitled to a full refund of tuition and fees. All
refunds may be contingent upon presentation of official documentation.
Students who volunteer for military services are subject to the college's
Refund Policy.
Exceptions to this policy may be authorized by the vice president of
Student Services or designee. All appeals must be submitted in writing.
2. Continuing Education
A full refund will be made for non-credit classes if the college exercises
its right to cancel a class or if the class is full when a registration is
received. A request for refund will be honored if a phone or email request
is received in the JCCC Continuing Education Office four (4) business days
before the class begins. For purposes of this policy, a business day is
defined as a day of the week from Monday through Friday, excluding such
days the college is officially closed. Otherwise, a Continuing Education
Refund Appeal Form may be submitted for administrative consideration on a
case-by-case basis.
