2009 Honors Program Graduates

The Honors Program is designed to stimulate and challenge academically talented students, providing them with an opportunity to excel and achieve their educational goals. The program allows students to explore new ideas, engage in creative activities, research areas of interest, and sharpen skills. It encourages students to become independent learners as they collaborate with experienced faculty.

Honors Program coursework is defined by small class size and is based on exploration of theories and perspectives in a seminar environment.  One-credit hour honors contracts are available to all qualified students who have an interest in more thorough investigation of a subject. The Honors Forum and the availability of a special leadership class add breadth to the honors experience.  Study abroad opportunities are available to Honors students, who are encouraged to take advantage of them whenever possible. The Honors Program also assists students in applying for transfer scholarships and aids with transfer to universities.  In addition, the Honors Program enriches the greater College community by bringing scholars to campus to share their expertise.

As you plan for your future, please consider the Honors Program as a means to excel and realize your academic potential.
