The Johnson County Regional Police Academy is located in Overland Park, Kansas, on the campus of Johnson County Community College.

You must be employed as a full-time law enforcement officer of any of the agencies we serve before you may enter the Police Academy. Applications must be made with the individual law enforcement agencies. A list of some of those agencies can be found here.

Operated in cooperation with the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Johnson County Community College and the Johnson County Chiefs and Sheriffs Association, the facility provides basic law enforcement training for officers from over 30 agencies in the suburban Kansas City area. Successful completion of the 16-week academy results in certification as a Kansas Law Enforcement Officer.
