High Schools are Developing Biotechnology Programs

Students interested in going into the biotechnology field need to have a good
background in science and math. In many school districts across the state, taking
those standard courses will take a student far. Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park established a signature program in biotechnology in the fall of 2007. The Olathe School District has had a program for several years as part of its
21st Century High School program. Other school districts that are developing
biotechnology programs in conjunction with the construction of new facilities include
Blue Valley and Eudora.
